Based on Governor DeWine’s press conference yesterday and changes made to the Hardin County Schools Common Reopening Agreement on July 30, 2020, the Kenton City School District has made the decision to begin the school year with remote learning for all of our students who have chosen school based instruction. We will use this learning model from August 19, 2020 through September 25, 2020. We will continue to evaluate the situation and update our phased reopening plan for September 28, 2020, as we firmly believe a face-to-face education is what is best for our students. Building principals will be sending information to families next week about the remote learning process for the start of school.
County district leaders are meeting with our local health department on a regular basis. As updates and new guidance become available, our reopening plan will continue to be revised. We will continue to share these updates with you.
We have posted a new graphic with updated information regarding our school learning models and safety protocols to help parents make an informed decision for the 2020-2021 school year. Families interested in the Kenton Online Learning Academy need to complete the form by Monday, August 10,2020.
