The Kenton-OHP FFA recently went to the Ohio FFA State Convention on Thursday, May 4, and Friday, May 5. While at the convention, many of the members received awards and scholarships. Chole Anderson who was a 2022 Kenton High School Grad received recognition for the Ohio HBPA Scholarship. Two members of the chapter, Bethany Cameron and Ethan Rall, received their State FFA Degrees. In order for FFA members to receive their State FFA Degree, they must be in 11th grade or higher, be involved in chapter leadership as well as have multiple state-sanctioned activities and community service activities. Along with those requirements, they must complete a set number of hours of instruction and SAE growth and productivity, in addition to profiting $2,500 within their SAE projects. Two of the chapter’s officers had received Gold Ratings on their officer books. Kira Ray who was the chapter’s treasurer received a Gold Rating on her treasurer’s book and Jozie Winegardner who was the chapter’s reporter received a Gold Rating on her reporter’s book. While at the convention, the Kenton-OHP FFA Chapter visited the Columbus Zoo, North Market, Easton Mall, and shopped around the Ohio Expo Center. Overall, they had a great time and received many awards.
