The game started off back and forth, but we played quite a bit of defense in the first half. Hadley Wilson did a great job making saves and our defense was playing well, but we were giving up too many shots. We got to the half tied 0-0. We came out in the second half with some more energy and Ellie Minter was able to draw a penalty kick at the 29 minute mark. Reese McKinniss made the penalty kick to put us up 1-0. A little over a minute later Shawnee scored off of a rebound from an indirect kick to tie the game at 1-1. A few minutes later we ended up in the same position as they received another indirect kick and put the rebound in to go up 2-1. We continued to play a lot of defense for the final 20 minutes and 2-1 would end up being the final score.
