The Kenton boys varsity golf team hosted St. Marys in a Western Buckeye League (WBL) match on Monday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Golf Course, falling short in a tightly contested round. The Wildcats posted a team score of 175, while the visiting Roughriders edged them out with a 167.
Landon Plaugher and Oliver Sneary led the way for Kenton, each carding a team-best 39. Jack Whitmer followed with a 47, while Cale Harshfield added a 50. Rounding out the scores were Austin Root with a 52 and Parker Benson with a 56.
Despite the loss, Kenton showed promise with strong performances at the top of the lineup. The team looks to bounce back in their next WBL matchup as they continue to grow and compete throughout the season.
