Today, Kenton High School launches its newest initiative What’s Important Now, better known as “W.I.N.,” Advisory/Club period for all students. The purpose of W.I.N. Advisory/Club is to focus on what is important — creating a positive school culture and meaningful relationships at KHS. Students have selected “clubs” based on their personal interests, including Dodgeball, Playstation, Board Games, Woodworking, Fishing, and Art, led by teacher advisors. W.I.N. will meet once a week on Mondays for a 25 minute period during the school day for the remainder of the spring semester. In the advisory portion, students will be engaged in activities centered on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and career readiness topics, such as Grit, Circle of Influence, Time Management, Culture Playbook, etc. On alternating Mondays, the same advisory group will meet but they have fun with their chosen Club activity (playing dodgeball, etc.) during this time.
