KHS slates homecoming activities

Members of the Kenton High School Marching Band pump up the student crowd at the 2021 Homecoming pep rally.

There is great excitement surrounding the Kenton High School Homecoming planned to begin September 19th. In addition to a planned special themed dress each day, KHS will hold our traditional bonfire on Thursday, September 22nd at 8:00 p.m. directly behind the football stadium. A pep rally will be held at 2:00 in the afternoon on September 23rd in the high school gymnasium for Kenton High School students.

The Homecoming Parade will start at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September, 23rd, forming behind Twirl beginning with homecoming attendants and royalty candidates. The parade will then proceed east on Columbus Street to Kenton Middle School. Joining the parade will be the JROTC Color Guard followed by the Wildcat Battalion, The Kenton High School Band and the High School Cheerleaders. Highlighting the parade will be last year’s Homecoming Queen, Kaylee Adams, 2012 Homecoming Queen, Harjas Chahal, along with this year’s Attendants. Kenton City Schools retired teacher, Mrs. Sharon Martin, will serve as Grand Marshall. Following behind will be any Kenton High School and Kenton Middle School fall athletic teams.

The pre-game ceremony and activities will begin Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. on Robinson Field with the presentation of the Queen and Attendants. On Saturday, September 24th, the Junior Class will sponsor the Homecoming dance from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. in the Kenton High School gymnasium.
