Kenton CBI Knowledge Bowl Team Wins State Contest

The Career Based Intervention (CBI) State Knowledge Bowl was held Friday, April 14th at Upper Scioto Valley Field House. There were over 20 teams present which included three different divisions that are based on grade level.  Middle School, Junior Division, and Senior Division.  Kenton took home first-place honors. Members of the team were Bryden Adams, Juan Alejo, Adrion Bell, Patrick Cannode, Alex Furr, Brody Heckathorn, Issac Oreglia, and Trevor Wall. CBI (Career Based Intervention) Knowledge Bowl is open to any CBI Program around the state.  Kenton’s CBI program students go to school for the first three periods of the day and then go to work.

“Knowledge Bowl is a great teamwork and team-building opportunity for students.  Students become motivated and accountable for information to help their team thrive” said CBI Teacher Brent Fackler. “Knowledge Bowl provides CBI students the opportunity to experience success in an academic contest and allows them to get together with their peers from other schools.”

Many of the questions focus on content from End of Course Exams, ACT, GED, Work Keys, various credential assessments, CBI classroom and work-related topics, financial literacy, and random fun trivia.
