The Kenton 8th grade boys basketball team used a strong first half defensive effort to beat Elida 30-21. The Wildcats held Elida scoreless in the first period and only gave up 2 points in the 2nd period. Briley Ward, Jayce Bordner, Lane Harder and Braylen Miller controlled the rebound category all night as well as on the defensive end of the court. Nolan Asman, Rhoen Goldsmith, and Gabe Purcell also had very strong defensive efforts. Leading in scoring was Braylen Miller with 12 points followed by Briley Ward with 10, Rhoen Goldsmith with 3, Jayce Bordner and Nolan Asman with 2 each and rounding out the scoring was Lane Harder with 1. The Wildcats are back in action at home with Glandorf.
