Strong Hitting Not Enough As Kenton Varsity Wildcats Falls To Elida Varsity Lady Dawgs

Kenton Varsity Wildcats fell 7-5 to Elida Varsity Lady Dawgs on Tuesday despite out-hitting them nine to five. Alexis Ratliff led Kenton Varsity Wildcats with three hits.
Ratliff collected three hits in three at bats in the loss. Ratliff hit a solo home run to center field in the second inning, doubled in the third inning, and doubled in the fourth inning.
Elida Varsity Lady Dawgs got on the board in the top of the second inning after Maddie Kill singled down the left field line, and Ava Jackson was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
Ratliff hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the second for the Kenton Varsity Wildcats.
Elida Varsity Lady Dawgs extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Kill and Lexi Metcalfe.
Mia Mammone earned the win for Elida Varsity Lady Dawgs. The hurler gave up nine hits and five runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking four. Ratliff took the loss for Kenton Varsity Wildcats. The hurler went seven innings, surrendering seven runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking five.
