Kenton Fights Back But Falls to Van Buren in Four-Set Volleyball Battle
The Kenton Wildcats volleyball team showed plenty of grit on the court in a hard-fought non-conference matchup against Van Buren, ultimately falling in four sets with scores of 25-9, 25-19, 21-25, and 25-13.
Van Buren set the tone early in the match, using an efficient attack to take a quick lead with a dominant 25-9 win in set one. Kenton settled into a better rhythm in the second set, finding their footing defensively, but Van Buren held off the rally to secure the set 25-19 and build a 2-0 match lead.
Refusing to go down quietly, the Wildcats made their stand in the third set. Anchored by strong net play and sharp back-row communication, Kenton edged out Van Buren 25-21 to pull within one set and shift the match momentum. However, Van Buren answered right back in the fourth frame, re-establishing their offensive tempo early to close out the 25-13 victory and secure the 3-1 overall win.

Rileigh Barnt anchored the front-row offense with a team-high 8 kills while adding 1 point, 1 ace, 3 blocks, and 3 digs.
