The Kenton boys varsity golf team dropped a home Western Buckeye League match to Wapakoneta on Thursday, falling 166-176.
Oliver Sneary led the Wildcats with a round of 40. Austin Root followed with a 45, while Rhoen Goldsmith also carded a 45. Quin Kozman finished with a 46, Brayden Lowe shot 49 and Anden Goldsmith rounded out the Kenton scoring with a 52.
While the varsity squad came up short, Kenton’s JV team picked up a narrow victory over Wapakoneta, winning 207-208.
Clay Furr and Landon Hunsaker paced the JV Wildcats with matching rounds of 51. Tate Ketcham followed with a 52, while Henry McCleese and Mason Smith each shot 53. Gabe Percell finished with a 59.
The Wildcats will have a few days off before returning to action next week when both teams travel to Defiance.
