The Kenton Boys Tennis team hosted Celina Thursday night for their 7th straight league game, defeating the Bulldogs 3-2. Garraden Wirbel led things off with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at 1st Singles over Josh Schoen. At 2nd Singles, Seth Spencer defeated Jon Avers 6-2, 6-1. Leighton Wirbel lost to Logan Sapp at 3rd Singles 4-6, 1-6 and Wyatt Campbell/Cale Harshfield lost to Carson Weitzel/Austin Siefring 3-6, 5-7. With the match tied 2-2, it came down to the 2nd Doubles team of Jack Whitmer/Ethan McNamara. Kenton won the 1st set in a tie break, 7-6 (7-2) and added more drama as the 2nd set also went to a tie break but the Wildcats won out 7-6 (7-2) and secured the match. Kenton is now 4-4, 4-3 in the WBL.
In JV action, Tate Ketcham/Richard Huang lost. Jackson Blue/Gatlin Davis lost 3-7. Jace Murphy/Brady Cole won 6-3.
The Wildcats host River Valley Saturday at 11:00am for a non league match.
