Sharp Tapped To Lead Wildcat Athletics

CJ Sharp

Kenton City Schools has tapped CJ Sharp as the district’s next Director of Athletics. Sharp comes from a twenty-year career in private business where he led in a retail environment with nationally-recognized metrics and performance.

“In CJ, we welcome a veteran leader whose coaching experience and commitment to excellence aligns with our school’s values,” said Jason Jones, Principal of Kenton High School.

Sharp is no stranger to the Kenton Wildcats or the Western Buckeye League. He has coached Wildcats for 11 years on the football field as a varsity assistant and seven years on the hardwood as a basketball assistant. Sharp graduated from Wapakoneta High School in 1998 and Ohio Northern University in 2002 where he played football.

“It’s a great privilege to work with our coaches and athletes at Kenton,” said Sharp. “Our community is a tough and gritty community and that’s the identity we will look to forge in our athletic program. I’m proud to be a Wildcat!

Sharp will begin his tenure as Director of Athletics on August 1st.
