The Kenton Wildcats boys golf team continued its strong start to the season Monday, defeating Parkway 168-174 in its home opening match to improve to 2-0 on the year.
Kenton’s balanced lineup proved to be the difference, with five golfers finishing in the 40s to secure the six-stroke victory.
Austin Root led the Wildcats with a match-low round of 40, while Oliver Sneary followed closely with a 41. Brayden Lowe carded a 43, and Anden Goldsmith added a 44. Quin Kozman finished with a 46, and Rhoen Goldsmith rounded out the Wildcats’ scoring with a 47.
The win gives Kenton momentum as the team heads into its next competition. The Wildcats will be back on the course Tuesday when they compete in the Allen East Tournament, looking to build on their undefeated start to the season.
