Mrs. Basil is in her first year of teaching and passionate about math — and about getting students to share that passion. She married this summer and moved back to Ohio from Illinois with her husband and their cat, Ziggy. Teachers who made her enjoy subjects that weren’t her favorites showed her what a classroom can do, and she wants her students to feel safe and empowered. She reads, exercises, and makes a point of trying local coffee shops.
